Campbell’s soup class action lawsuit overview:

Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Campbell’s Soup: The Campbell’s Co. is facing a new class action lawsuit alleging it falsely advertises its microwavable soup products as safe to heat in the microwave when they are not. Plaintiff Margaret Peggi Louise Garvey claims Campbell’s misleads consumers by labeling and marketing its microwavable soup products as safe to heat in microwaves without risk. Garvey argues Campbell’s microwavable soup products are actually made with polypropylene plastic, which, she argues, releases harmful microplastics directly into the soup when microwaved. “By falsely promising that the products are microwavable and omitting material information about their ability to shed microplastics under ordinary use, [Campbell’s] has caused consumers to unknowingly expose themselves and their families to dangerous microplastics through everyday food preparation,” the Campbell’s class action lawsuit says.
