How to Unclog Shower Head Holes and Increase Water Pressure

You've probably noticed that the water pressure coming out of your shower head is constantly decreasing, perhaps attributing this to a problem affecting the entire house or building.

In reality, this problem is often caused by limescale buildup between the holes in the shower head . Some of these holes even become completely clogged, preventing water from flowing.

Luckily, this problem can be solved with some DIY tricks that, in addition to cleaning the surface of the shower head , allow us to unclog the holes and restore optimal water pressure.

To clean a fixed shower head :

  1. Fill a plastic bag halfway with vinegar.
  2. Place the shower head in the plastic bag and secure it with a tie.
  3. Leave the shower head to soak overnight.
  4. The next morning, remove the bag and scrub the shower head with a toothbrush.
  5. Finally, open the tap and let the water run for a few minutes.
